Product DescriptionSport professionals demand nothing less than the best, and Oakley has answered their challenge for decades. World-class athletes have driven Oakley to create innovation after innovation, including unbeatable optical clarity. The Flak Jacket takes that to the next level with the latest in performance technology. Maintains sharp, clear vision the Flak Jacket features Hydrophobic, a permanent lens coating that prevents rain and sweat from building up on the lens. It also repels skin oils and other contaminates, so the lens is smudge resistant and easy to keep clean. It even eliminates static electricity, so dirt and dust particles won’t cling. Choose the nose pads that give you the best fit — two sizes are included with every frame. Like the stem sleeves, they’re made of Unobtainium to increase grip with perspiration. Three-Point Fit optimizes comfort and holds the lenses in precise optical alignment for superior clarity.
Oakley Men's Flak Jacket XLJ Polarized Sunglasses
Customer Reviews:* This is my third pair of Oakley sunglasses. Previously I had two pair of Minute 1.0 shades. The two pair had combined to last 10 years total with minor repairs. My lenses were getting scratched and it was time for new rubbers so I set on getting a new pair. For those not intimately familiar with Oakley, they put out an outstanding product for the discerning consumer. If you are tired of $15 sunglasses that break at the slightest flex, or fed up with poor lens quality that gives you headaches at the end of a long day outside, then Oakley is for you.To be honest, at first I was not totally sold on any new Oakley style. A lot has changed in four years since I bought my last pair (the design of which by the way was then already 6-7 years old and getting ready to be phased out). The more I looked however the more I decided I wanted a practical sport style, as opposed to a fashion style. I decided to get a pair of the Flak Jackets, with jet black frames and black iridium polarized XLJ lenses. The clarity is truly top notch. The "rubbers" (Unobtanium) on the nose pads and ear stems grips so well all the time even if you're sweating. The fit feels like they are custom made. I especially like the wide open view of the XLJ lenses. The lenses extend further down to give greater coverage but they are not so huge as to get in the way or make you feel like you are wearing a ski mask. Oakley's website will have way better descriptions of all the details, but sum it up to say I love the shades. If you aren't ready to spend good money on good sunglasses then you can go down to your gas station and pick out a pair right now that was made in China. Oakley definitely does not scrimp on quality and you get what you pay for. This will be evident the first time you wear them outside (and no, you cannot tell the full quality you are getting from inside the Sunglass Hut indoors). This is also my first pair of polarized lens in any sunglasses. Truly I could not be any more thrilled with my purchase. I continue to be a loyal Oakley customer. * 03-19-2012The item advertised and paid for was a NEW pair of Oakley Flak Jacket sunglasses with polarized lenses. The item I received was used and the lenses are not polarized. The retail box was beat up and taped together with scotch tape. The shipping box was also abused in some matter. I am very displeased and unsatisfied!03-21-2012After submitting my review above, I was contacted by Amazon about the issues stated. I was first offered a link to purchase another pair of sunglasses with the correct lenses. I was assured that this was a one time error. I told the Customer Service Representative that that was an unsatisfactory offer because it was Amazon's error for not checking the contents of another customers return. The box I received was in-fact labeled "HD-Polarized." However, the glasses were not.The Customer Service Rep then offered to ship me the correct glasses, overnight, at no additional cost. This pleased me. When I received the new glasses, I opened the shipping container to find a brand new, unopened retail box. Inside was a pair of Oakley Flak Jacket sunglasses with polarized lenses and all the factory plastic coverings. I also found a marker used to apply Oakley's Nano water repellent, an extra set of nose pieces, warranty card, instructions for care and use, a holster bag for the glasses and a buffing cloth. All of these items were missing from the original order. I was emailed a return shipping label and return authorization to be included in the return of the first package.Amazon tried really hard to make this right by me. I appreciate that! I will continue to use Amazon and will promote them to my friends and family. They really are trying to be most customer centric company in the world. It was a no fuss, no hassle exchange/return experience. A person doesn't usually find that these days.
