He has tried other scents (usually samples I bring home from the fragrance counter), but he always comes back to this old favorite.Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez, in their fabulous book, Perfumes: The Guide, describe the scent of original Polo as "dry oakmoss," give it four out of five stars and rave: "Polo has a relaxed, expansive feeling in a comfortingly conservative way, like short hair combed neatly in a straight side part on a fellow otherwise charmingly shabby. No wonder some men have worn it all their lives...this stuff smells fantastic."I don't know about the shabby part, but my husband is charming, and he has worn this scent most of his life, and I love it.The only drawback I can think of is that the stuff is a tad pricey. The good news is that it's cheaper online than at the department store, especially if you buy several Polo items at the same time to save on postage charges. Be sure and check out the sets, and compare the prices of the different sellers. Some will offer specials and deals on sets at certain times of the year. The deodorant and the cologne or after-shave together make a nice gift. * This is a great smelling fragrance. I have worn it for years and i always receive compliments on how good I smell. The product arrived as agreed and was in excellent condition. I would do business with this vendor again.
